Review: Heartstopper | Alice Oseman
Summary: throughout 5 books the lives of Charlie and Nick are being followed, how the came together and grow up through their struggles and how they will see the future together.
Vol one, Charlie Spring is in Year 10 at Truham Grammar School for Boys. The past year hasn't been too great, but at least he's not being bullied anymore. Nick Nelson is in Year 11 and on the school rugby team. He's heard a little about Charlie - the kid who was outed last year and bullied for a few months - but he's never had the opportunity to talk to him. They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn't think he has a chance. But love works in surprising ways, and sometimes good things are waiting just around the corner...
Vol two, Nick and Charlie are best friends. Nick knows Charlie's gay, and Charlie is sure that Nick isn't. But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is discovering all kinds of things about his friends, his family ... and himself.
Vol three, Charlie didn't think Nick could ever like him back, but now they're officially boyfriends. Nick's even found the courage to come out to his mum. But coming out isn't just something that happens once - there's Nick's older brother, and a school trip to Paris, not to mention all the other friends and family - and life can be hard, even with someone who loves you by your side. As their feelings get more serious, Charlie and Nick will need each other more than ever before.
Vol four, Charlie and Nick's relationship has been going really well, and Charlie thinks he's ready to say those three little words: I love you. Nick feels the same way, but he's got a lot on his mind -- especially the thought of coming out to his dad and the fact that Charlie might have an eating disorder. As a new school year begins, Charlie and Nick will have to learn what love really means.
Vol five, Nick and Charlie are in love. They’ve finally said those three little words, and Charlie has almost persuaded his mum to let him sleep over at Nick’s. He wants to take their relationship to the next level ... but can he find the confidence he needs? And with Nick going off to uni next year, is everything about to change?
My opinion: I read volume one when it first came out in 2019. Being a LGBTQ teen myself at the time there was a lot of comfort I could find in these books. I read them so many times and I still love the full story and how it’s progressing trough the years. The art style is so comfy and so good, and I just lose time and myself in these books. After its own Netflix show and the last book and movie still coming all I can say is that I find it amazing and inspiring!
Book stats:
-Published on 7 feb 2019 (vol 1)
-Pages: 1687 (vol 1 to 5)

What i liked:
-The art style!
-Character growth
-The story in itself!
What i didn't like:
-That the last book isn’t out yet ;P obviously this is a joke but I can’t wait!
